Vegetation management: Identification
Table of Contents
Neara provides standard / conventional clearance zones out-of-the-box that can be edited and iterated on. It can also reveal complex and hidden risks, by using the detailed network model and our powerful and flexible Report capabilities.
There may be some differences between the features shown here and those configured for your network and business needs. We recommend that you contact your Project Delivery Team for guidance on using features specific to your organization.
Encroachment zones
The workspace displays a number of useful reports and vizualisation features for identifying encroachment zones based on blow-out, fall-in, and grow-in.
Here, the Operational Veg Report includes a column that summarizes Worst Encroachments. By turning on that column's Color Legend option, it's easy to vizualise potential encroachment issues in the Perspective view.
To focus on a span with a specific encroachment risk, click the Show option in a row in the Report table. The Perspective view will automatically zoom to the affected span.
Tip: If you navigate to an encroachment and don't see the vegetation points related to the encroachment, the classified point cloud for that part of the map hasn't yet been loaded for performance reasons.
To load it switch to the Datasets tool on the toolbar, confirm the relevant point cloud dataset is enabled in the Properties panel in the sidebar, and then click on that area in the Perspective view to load the classified vegetation (and other) points into the perspective view, as demonstrated in the following video.
Filtering to highlight specific risks
Use the Filter option in the column header of the Worst Encroachment column of the report table to focus on a specific class of encroachment risks.
The rows in the report table, and the highlighted sections in the Perspective view, will update automatically to focus on the selected encroachment risks:
Analyze worst-case scenarios
Neara’s interactive Report features make it easy to analyze a variety of scenarios.
In this example, the Wind pressure slider is configured to easily and interactively update the Perspective view in real-time as you model extreme wind pressures:
