Connecting external cloud data sources
Table of Contents
To set-up an S3 bucket for your data, you will have received a temporary URL that contains bucket credentials. You will use the bucket to upload raw point cloud, and download classified point cloud that has been exported from Neara. This guide explains what to do once you receive the tinyURL.
1. Open your URL
A browser tab will open containing information that looks similar to the following:
{
access_key :"AKIAxxxxxxxx"
bucket_name :"com-neara-customer-xxxxxxx"
bucket_url :"https://s3.console.aws.amazon.com/s3/buckets/xxxxxxx"
change_password_url :"https://neara.signin.aws.amazon.com/console"
password :"Aa0@88xxxxx"
secret_key :"Nsce3xxxxxxxxxxxxx"
user_name :"xxxxxxxx"
}
If the information suggests that the URL is expired or that you are not authorised to access it, please contact Neara.
2. Change your password
Click on the change_password_url link or copy it into your browser. Enter the user_name and password in the two empty fields to the left of the page:
Enter the old password and your desired new password. After doing so, you will be redirected to this page:
3. Access your bucket
Go back to the tinyurl and navigate to the URL next to bucket_url. You will be redirected to a page that looks like this:
4. Upload your data
You can add a folder or files by clicking the respective buttons. Once upload is complete, you should see your files inside the S3 bucket.
Your files are now stored in S3
5. Connecting to cloud berry
To download and upload many files at once, we recommend using free cloud browsing software like CloudBerry. CloudBerry allows you to bulk-download files after they are classified, as well as perform other useful actions that are not possible in the S3 web interface. The installation and setup for CloudBerry is explained here:
