New: Composite pole type in poles library

2 February, 2026

Updated today

Neara is supporting the strategic adoption of composite poles in overhead electrical network design and construction by ensuring these can be modeled efficiently and effectively alongside existing pole types.

Composite poles are now a dedicated type available in the Poles library

  • Create new composite poles directly in the Composite Pole tab and quickly navigate between them in this dedicated section

  • Control modeling treatment of composite poles using library parameters including polynomial strength and elasticity

  • The dynamic pole schematic offers visual feedback as physical parameters are updated

  • Migrate poles from generic to composite so users only interact with relevant properties

Migration is optional but recommended as it improves usability and reduces risk of data errors by limiting the properties available. Generic material type poles can still be used and projects will operate as normal.
