Snap tool upgrades | Knowledge Base

The Snap tool has been improved meaning you have more Snapping options and are able to simply and easily interact with snapping controls.

Snapping options for conductors have changed, with new options added and existing options renamed to ensure they are easy to understand.

Cable sag	Updated Multiple point selection option available
Assembly height	New Replaces 'Attachment height'
Insulator offset	Updated Offsets insulator relative to assembly on transversal and vertical planes only Longitudinal plane offset has been relocated to insulator snapping options Snap to insulator start or Snap to insulator end
Fit cable to points	New Replaces 'Insulator to cable from point selection' with Sag & insulators Replaces 'Attachment to cable from point selection' with Sag & assembly height

You are now able to snap insulators using several Snapping options.

Option	Change summary
Snap to insulator start	New Move insulator and attached cable by setting the position of the start of the insulator
Snap to insulator end	New Move insulator and attached cable by setting the position of the end of the insulator
Structure position	New Alters structure's Location or Location & vertical offset based on point selection for the start of insulator

You will see snapping controls including Mode, Snap to, and View options at the bottom of the Properties panel when using the snap tool on any asset type.

Point selection	New Where available, use single or multiple point selection to move objects
3D objects	New Control snapping to objects like DXFs including limiting to Vertices only (discreet points) or allowing this to be Full (anywhere)
Feature points	New Control snapping to inserted feature points
