Manage an asset's Status
Updated over 8 months ago

Assets in a Neara network model can have their Status independently set to:

  1. Unspecified: the default when a new asset is placed

  2. Existing

  3. Replace

  4. New

  5. Remove

  6. Retension (conductors only)

Change an asset's status

In a custom report

Create a custom report based on one of the following data sources:

  • Poles

  • StrainSections

  • Assemblies

  • Stays

When the report loads, modify the asset's status in the Status column in the relevant row:

On the Properties tab

Select an asset, and switch to the Materials section inside the Properties tab. Change that asset's status with the drop-down:

To update an assembly's status this way, first select a span

Effect of 'Removed' status

The effect of the Removed status is defined by the options selected in the popup that appears when you select Project / Design settings:

Removed Status Stops Loads From Being Applied

Poles, attachments, stays and conductors with status set to 'Removed' are no longer considered in load calculations.

Removed Status Hides Objects From View

Poles, attachments, stays and conductors with status set to 'Removed' are hidden from view.

However, it does not hide objects that are connected to a Removed object to ensure only objects that have been explicitly specified are hidden. If this checkbox is unticked, then the assets are instead greyed out in a design.

Use status for Asset Coloring

Once you have set the status of your poles and conductors, you can then view these at scale.

Select View on the menu, and on the popout set Asset coloring to Status:

The view will update in the Perspective and other views with a legend:
