You can select a pole, conductor, insulator, crossarm, brace or stay/guy in the Perspective view and see details about the object in the Properties panel. You can limit the asset types that can be selected with the Selectable types control in the Properties panel.

  • You need to set the Structures dropdown to Component in order to select insulators, cross arms or braces separately from their attached pole.

  • You need to set the Conductor dropdown to Strain section in order to select the length of continuous conductor, rather than just the Span between two poles.

Using the Move and select tool in the Perspective view, when you hover over an object it will turn green and you can select it by left-clicking your mouse. The Properties panel will update to provide details about the object.

You can also select multiple assets in the Perspective view by left-clicking and dragging until all assets are touched by the polygon. You can limit the asset types that will be selected by ensuring that only the appropriate Selectable types are enabled in the Properties panel before drawing the polygon.

The Properties panel will update to provide high level details about the objects.

Poles

You can review pole information and Modify poles from the Properties panel while using the Move and select tool.

For more information about working with poles, see Poles collection.

Conductors

You can View and edit conductor properties from the Properties panel while using the Move and select tool.

For more information about working with conductors, see Conductors collection.

Insulators

You can see the insulator’s Component Properties, Insulator Properties and Offset in the Properties panel once it has been selected in the Perspective view.

Component Properties summarises the insulator type as well as the assembly and structure it is connected to.

Clicking on the Component will open the Component Library and display the selected insulator’s information on the right hand side.

Clicking on the Assembly will open the Assemblies Library and display the assembly that includes the insulator on the right hand side.

If you want to view the properties of the structure the insulator is attached to, click on the linked text next to Structure (Number - Label). This will also select the structure in the Perspective view.

To return to viewing the insulator’s properties, right-click anywhere in the Perspective view and then left-click on the insulator again in the Perspective view.

Insulator Properties summarises the strain section the insulator is attached to.

If you want to view the properties of the conductor the insulator is attached to, click on the linked text next to Strain Section. This will also select the strain section in the Perspective view.

To return to viewing the insulator’s properties, right-click anywhere in the Perspective view and then left-click on the insulator again in the Perspective view.

Offset shows the longitudinal, transversal and vertical offset relative to the assembly the insulator is attached to. You can manually update these fields to alter the position of the insulator relative to the assembly. To return the insulator to its original position, simply revert all values to zero.

Crossarms and braces

You can see the crossarm (beam) or brace’s Component Properties in the Properties panel once it has been selected in the Perspective view. This summarises the crossarm or brace type, as well as the assembly and structure it is connected to.

Example of a crossarm:

Example of a brace:

Clicking on the Component will open the Component Library and display the selected crossarm or brace's information on the right hand side.

Clicking on the Assembly will open the Assemblies Library and display the assembly that includes the crossarm or brace on the right hand side.

If you want to view the properties of the structure the crossarm or brace is attached to, click on the linked text next to Structure (Number - Label). This will also select the structure in the Perspective view.

To return to viewing the crossarm or brace’s properties, right-click anywhere in the Perspective view and then left-click on the crossarm or brace again in the Perspective view.

For more information about working with crossarms, see Crossarms collection.

Stays/guys

You can review stay/guy information and adjust positioning from the Properties panel while using the Move and select tool.

For more information about working with stays/guys, see Stays / Guys collection.
