Select the Conductor tool on the toolbar:
Confirm the type of Conductor, Pole, and Construction to be placed in the Conductor Properties tab in the sidebar:
Clicking the blue name of the Conductor will open the Conductors library allowing you to view, modify, and select different conductors. Follow the same process to access the Poles library and Constructions library. For more information about working with the Conductor, Pole, and Construction Libraries see Creating poles / conductors / constructions / components in the introductory tutorial.
When ready, click a location in the Perspective view to place the first pole, and then click to place a second pole. The selected poles with conductor(s) attached are placed in the view:
You can continue to place poles & conductors by clicking in the Perspective view. To stop placing poles and conductors with this tool, right-click or choose another tool on the toolbar.
Placing intermediate poles automatically
Neara can automatically place intermediate poles between two locations. This is useful if you are placing a long line.
Click the Conductor tool on the toolbar, and place a checkmark to the right of the Place intermediate poles every option. Enter a pole interval distance in the box.
Then click in the Perspective view to set the start pole location, click to set the second pole location, and right-click to stop placing poles & conductors. Poles will be automatically inserted at the specified intervals between those two points:
If the interval units are using an incorrect unit of measurement (m vs. ft) update your project design settings.
Changing and fine-tuning a line
Once a line has been placed you can alter specific features of the entire line with a high degree of accuracy by modifying the Model Properties and Catenary Definitions sections that appear in the lower part of the Conductor properties panel in the sidebar when you select a conductor in the Perspective view (you might need to scroll down the sidebar panel to see all the options):
