Modify an Environment
Updated over 2 months ago

In a project, select Environments on the menu bar:

You can use Add Environment to insert a default single environment and are able to edit all fields in the Environments table manually. Use the red icon at the end of a row to delete an environment. You can also Import and export Environments rather than adding and amending Environments individually.

The first environment on the list is considered the default environment and cannot be disabled. For best results, this should be temperature only, without additional conditions.

Color code

Click on the colour box to the right of that environment's row to select a color to represent that environment. This is useful for distinguishing between different environments applied in reports and vizualisations:

Enabled

Check/uncheck the Enabled checkbox next to an environment to enable or disable it from being viewed in DXF exports, the Profile view, and blowout visualisations.

Note you cannot disable the first environment as this is considered the default environment.

Strength States and Derating Factor

Strength states are used in the analysis to derate the maximum strength of construction to a new allowable maximum. They are used and applied to an environment in the strength column.

For example the Environment Max Wind is using the strength state Strength and in this strength state, wood poles are derated by a factor of 0.6:

With this applied factor, you can now see that in the Tip Load analysis of a pole the derated tip load limit is now 6.00 instead of its original strength of 10:
