Datasets are Neara data structures that are optimized for displaying, interacting with, and analysing Network Model and other geospatial data in projects.
They are uploaded or created in projects, may be generated using Neara data processing Pipelines, and can be temporary or permanent.
Common Dataset types include:
Network Model: the engineering-grade representation of (for example) an electricity network's infrastructure including poles, conductors, and more. The Network Model is typically generated from an automated analysis of 3D LiDAR scans, GIS information, manually created network designs, and other data.
Point cloud, based on imported LiDAR data, or generated as the output of a classification process
Geodata, for example from imported GIS data, from a Web Feature Service (WFS) server, or from GeoJSON files
Analytics (server-side) reports that perform calculations and visualizations at very large scale, for example across an entire network
Imagery, such as field-captured, or satellite and aerial high resolution imagery
Datasets are typically created, processed, and managed inside a project.
However, datasets are "global". This means they exist outside of projects, and more than one project can reference the same dataset.
