Neara provides a variety of ways to customize your project screen for different tasks and needs.

Inside a Project, workspaces define the layout of your screen. For example, you might have a 3D View workspace with a layout that optimizes working with 3D views, and a Reports workspace that focuses on report-related features and actions.

The default project workspace

In a new, blank Project your screen will typically display a Workspace that looks like this:

The Menu contains commands and options relevant to the Project. Click the Home button on the far-left of the Menu to return to the Home screen.

The Toolbar displays tools relevant to your current view and task.

To modify which tools are shown in the Toolbar, click the ellipsis (…) menu at the bottom of the toolbar panel

The Workspace selectors along the bottom of the screen allow you to switch to other Workspaces inside the current Project, and create new Workspaces.

The other sections of the workspace are divided into flexible Panels that contain one or more Tabs. In a new, blank project there are three (3) panels displayed, containing these tabs:

  • The Perspective tab where you view and work with your network model in 3D;

  • The Analytics Map that shows a top-down, searchable map view that is integrated with the location displayed in the Perspective, Plan, and Profile tabs;

  • The Profile tab that shows a single, unrolled slice of any poles and conductors currently selected in the Perspective view;

  • The Plan tab that shows a top-down view of your network model; and

  • The Properties tab that allows you modify settings for the currently selected tool or object(s).

To open other tabs click the (+) button to the right of any open tab in any panel. A popup will appear to allow you to select from available tabs. Some tabs will also appear on-demand when you select a tool on the toolbar.

To further customize your workspace you can move tabs between panels - as well as move, resize, add, and remove panels.

Customize a workspace

Resize a panel

To resize a panel, move the mouse cursor to the edge of the panel until it turns into either a vertical or horizontal resize cursor and then click and drag the panel's edge to resize it:

Move a panel

A panel can be moved to a different section of the Workspace by clicking and holding its tab, and then dragging it. Blue highlights will appear as you move the panel around the Workspace, showing you where you can drop the panel:

Add more panels

Neara contains a wide variety of panels designed for different purposes. To add another panel to the Workspace, click the (+) button in any section of the screen and select the panel to appear in that section:

Remove a panel

To remove a panel, click the (x) in the panel's tab.

Reset a workspace

Restore a workspace to its default layout by clicking the menu button in the bottom-right corner of the screen, selecting Reset to default workspace, and click OK:

Switch between workspaces

You can have multiple workspaces inside a Project. New, empty Projects will typically include Design and Map workspaces.

To switch between workspaces, use the tabs at the bottom of the screen inside a Project:

Create a new workspace

To create a new, blank workspace, click the (+) button on the right-hand end of the list of workspace tabs at the bottom of the screen.

Once created, click the New Tab button to choose the views, tools and reports to show in the new workspace, and arrange the panels to meet your needs.
